SF - Purim Edition

Purim Edition \ Insight for Purim

D'var Torah: As we reflect on the story of Purim, we attain the clarity to see that the miracles that occurred to Esther and Mordecai were awakened by the repentance of Klal Yisrael. As a result,  Klal Yisrael realized that the events of every day life are the consequences of our actions. In light of this awareness, Klal Yisrael were inspired to enthusiastically uphold the Torah and gain its awesome rewards.
Lesson: The awareness that  the events of our lives are hidden miracles that are brought about by our actions, inspires us accept and fulfill the Torah with joy. We are confident that when we fulfill the Torah, HaShem blesses us and treats us with His most tender compassion.

Visualization:  Envision Mordecai and Esther encouraging Klal Yisrael to improve the spiritual aspects of their lives. Imagine all the people fasting and praying for three days. See immediately afterwards, Haman's evil decree to kill all the Jews is foiled, and Haman is killed. Envision yourself making a few spiritual corrections. Visualize these corrections as keys that unlock the gates of happiness, success, and a closeness to HaShem.

Purim - A Lesson of Love

Haman was a very mean dude,
He wanted to kill HaShem's children, the entire brood.

Yet it was only Mordecai who refused to bow down.
So why did he want to kill every Jew in town?

Haman had an anger issue, he was out of control.
He was an evil demon without heart and soul.

Mordecai rallied the Jews to fast, cry, and pray.
He teamed up with Queen Esther who saved the day.

When the smoke cleared the Jews danced with joy,
And they thanked HaShem for neutralizing the "goy."

They said, "There is a great lesson to learn.
Anger is poison that must always be spurned."

So we spread love on Purim and we give gifts to our friends.
And with compassion in our hearts charity we send.

We fill our hearts with  kindness, and love for one and all.
Have a HAPPY Purim and remember -- every Jew should always stand tall!

The Salant Foundation is currently looking for a Shul or community to partner with us in sharing the merit of the unique and important Salant Kollel. There are practical and easy ways (such as adoptakollel.org) to create a special mutual relationship between the Kollel and a Shul or community. If you think your Shul or community or workplace might want to participate in supporting the Salant Kollel, please contact Rabbi Zvi Miller at salantorg@gmail.com, and we will discuss how to implement your idea. Thank you!
