The Ultimate Torah \ Parashat B'Har Bechukotai
“These are the commandments that HaShem commanded Moshe to the Children of Israel at Mount Sinai” (Vayikra 27:34).
HaShem gave the Torah to the greatest Prophet — Moshe Raebenu, to the greatest generation — Dor HaDeah, at the holiest place — Mount Sinai!
Our Sages elucidate this verse as follows, “‘These are the commandments’ — ‘these’ are the only commandments. ‘That HaShem commanded Moshe’ — Moshe was worthy of being the emissary of HaShem. ‘Moshe to the Children of Israel’ — Moshe was worthy of being the emissary of the Chidden of Israel, and the Children of Israel were worthy of sending Moshe to receive the Torah on their behalf. ‘To the children of Israel’ — the merit of the Children of Israel precipitated the revelation of the Torah. ‘On Mount Sinai’ — the entire Torah was given on Mount Sinai.”
The extraordinary combination of -- Moshe Rabenu, Klal Yisrael, and Mount Sinai -- engendered the most powerful emanation of Torah that could be. The Torah that Moshe Rabenu and his generation received at Sinai embraced the deepest, most hidden secrets of HaShem.
Even more, HaShem revealed the ultimate Torah to benefit future generations. “Torat Moshe” empowers each member of Klal Yisrael in every generation to share in the exalted Torah of Sinai. HaShem wanted to benefit all of His beloved Children throughout the generations with the holiness and wisdom of the Torah that He transmitted to Moshe and Klal Yisrael at Mount Sinai. Therefore, HaShem embedded within the Torah the holiness and wisdom of Torat Moshe so that it is available for every generation
Although only the Torah of the generation of Sinai possessed these three aspects that produced the highest level of Torah, HaShem reveals the Sinai dimension of Torah to his beloved Klal Yisrael in each and every generation.
May we all merit to learn and delight in the Torah of “Moshe to the Children of Israel on Mount Sinai.”
When you learn Torah, envision that HaShem is revealing to you the secrets of Torah wisdom at Mount Sinai.
