SF - Finding Light in the Darkness

Nachum Ish Gam Zu was a holy Sage renowned for his unwaveringly positive perspective on life. He deeply believed that since HaShem is the ultimate source of goodness, everything that happens—no matter how it appears—must also be good. Whenever he faced something that seemed negative or painful, he would calmly declare: "Gam zu l’tovah"—"This too is for the good."

His faith was so profound that he saw every hardship as a hidden kindness, a blessing concealed in disguise. By responding to adversity with a declaration of trust in HaShem’s goodness, Nachum Ish Gam Zu didn’t just endure hardship—he transformed it. He connected the darkness he experienced to its divine source of light and purpose. In doing so, he revealed the hidden good within what others saw as suffering.

When we affirm our unwavering trust in HaShem’s goodness—even in difficult times—we elevate the challenge itself. By saying, “This too is for the good,” we don’t just cope with adversity; we connect it to its higher purpose and reveal its inner light. What seemed like a stumbling block can become a stepping stone to blessing, growth, and transformation.

Today: When challenges arise, respond with emunah—faith in HaShem’s absolute goodness. Say with confidence: “Gam zu l’tovah – This too is for the good.” In doing so, you align yourself with a deeper reality where even the darkest moments serve a purpose. Envision your life illuminated with joy, success, and closeness to HaShem—knowing that every moment, even the difficult ones, brings you closer to your true potential and to Him.
