The Torah is the Divine wisdom expressed through the pure words of HaShem, and the Mitzvot are the sacred deeds He commanded Klal Yisrael to perform. Our Sages teach that the observance of Mitzvot brings us beneath the protective wings of HaShem’s presence. In this light, King Shlomo (Solomon) revealed a powerful truth: "שׁוֹמֵר מִצְוָה לֹא יֵדַע דָּבָר רָע" “A person who observes the Mitzvah will not know of any evil” (Kohelet 8:5).
This means that when we fulfill the Mitzvot sincerely and purely, with no ulterior motive other than to carry out HaShem’s will, we become deserving of His special protection. Just as we strive to filter out selfish or impure intentions from our service, so too HaShem shields us from harm, mishaps, and negativity in our lives.
The purer our intentions in performing Mitzvot, the more we open ourselves to HaShem’s Divine oversight and protection. The King of the Universe watches over those who devote themselves wholeheartedly to His will.
Today: Before performing a Mitzvah, pause for a few moments. Reflect on your kavanah (intention). Ask yourself: - Am I doing this for HaShem alone?
- Can I let go of ego, habit, or self-interest in this act?
Strengthen your trust that when you act for the sake of Heaven, HaShem will guard you and your loved ones with infinite care. 🕊️ (Based on the commentary of Rav Yechezkel Sarna zt”l) |
