SF - # Redemption In the Blink of an Eye

In honor of Rabbi and Mrs. Howard Seif:

With heartfelt gratitude, we wish you and your family bracha, hatzlacha, and abundant nachas!

Like an awe-inspiring flash of lightning that pierces the night, Hashem’s redemption comes suddenly, illuminating the deepest darkness. In an instant, it brings enlightenment, freedom, and joy.

During the Egyptian exile, Klal Yisrael sank into harsh bondage and descended to the lowest levels of spiritual impurity. After centuries of suffering, there appeared to be no sign that deliverance from Pharaoh and his taskmasters was near. Yet precisely when the situation was most bleak—when hope seemed lost—Hashem redeemed Klal Yisrael in the blink of an eye.

Just as Hashem lifted Klal Yisrael from the depths of darkness in a single moment, so too must we trust steadfastly that from within the darkness of our long exile, Hashem will soon reveal the light of the final redemption. As it states in Tehillim: “Redeem us, Hashem, like the flash floods that surge through the Negev”—so sudden and powerful will our redemption be.

Today: Reflect upon the miracles Hashem performed at the time of the Exodus: the Ten Plagues, the splitting of the Red Sea, the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, and the sustaining Manna in the wilderness. Let these wonders inspire us to place absolute trust in Hashem, confident that when the moment of redemption arrives, He will instantaneously reveal His light and redeem Klal Yisrael forever.
