SF - Shavuous Edition - Advance in the Love of Torah

Advance in the Love of Torah

Before we learn Torah we pray to HaShem "Please sweeten Your Torah in our mouths and the mouths of our descendants." We request that HaShem make the Torah sweet for us so that we feel heartfelt love for the Torah. When we are inspired to love the Torah, we learn Torah with joy and we fulfill it to the best of our ability. Even more, when we learn the Torah with love, HasShem considers it a great rectification and forgives all of our misdeeds!

Lesson: Our love of Torah is the secret to devoting ourselves to Torah and Mitzvos. The prayer to "sweeten the Torah" is the most powerful way to instill the love of Torah in our hearts and the hearts of our children.

Visualization: Envision your heart filled with the love of the Torah. Feel the joy, the purity, and the closeness to HaShem. Reflect that the more your love of Torah increases, the more you advance in spiritual growth, Torah wisdom, good deeds, pleasant character traits, and loving kindness.
(Based on Brachos 11b and Rashi)
