The Art of Positive Listening The attribute of compassionate listening gives us the capacity to hear and respond to the requests of our friends. If we listen carefully we can even hear "between the lines," their unexpressed needs and concerns. And most importantly, we give them the great gift of listening to their conversation, which affords them validity, self-worth, and honor. Lesson: In the Heavenly realm of Divine compassion HaShem listens to the good words of man and ignores all accusations and negative remarks. App: Emulate HaShem by listening compassionately to your friends and dear ones, and filter out negative comments. Strengthen your relationships by being a caring, receptive, and patient listener.
