King Solomon's Prescription for Goodness
"So that you may walk in the way of good people and keep the paths of the righteous" (Proverbs 2:20) In this teaching, King Solomon, advises us to conduct ourselves with absolute, constant goodness towards our fellow man. We need to be consistent in our conduct and strive to be kind to others, at all times. Even in situations where one is offended, it is better not to react harshly. Refrain from causing hurt to others so that only good emanates from you.
Lesson: Just like a public road is familiar to everyone, so too, the path of good should be traversed by all, so that only goodness is practiced by society, both individually and collectively.
App: Be inspired to follow King Solomon's prescription for living by being pleasant and kind in every circumstance; as a result, the quality of our lives and those of our neighbors will be elevated, beautified, and filled with joy. (Based on the commentary of the Ohr HaChaim)
