Five Stones King David chose five stones from the brook in preparation for his battle with the evil giant, Goliath. The five stones correspond to the five words "Shema Yisrael HaShem Elokenu HaShem" followed by "Echad" -- the declaration of the Unity of HaShem. Miraculously the five stones melted into one stone. King David merited to subdue Goliath, by striking him in the forehead with that very stone. Lesson: King David's awareness of the Unity of HaShem, gave him the merit to nullify Goliath's power and to triumph over him.
App: Envision King David saying "Shema Yisrael" and concentrating on the Unity of HaShem, as he hurls his stone at Goliath. When you recite Shema Yisrael, have in mind the Unity of HaShem. Remember that our steadfast trust in HaShem and His Unity, awakens the merit to subdue our enemies and succeed in all of our endeavors.
