We pray in the Shemoneh Esrei prayer: "Blessed are You HaShem, the Support and Trust of the righteous." Reliance on HaShem for His "Support" is a lesser level of faith than one who "Trusts" totally in HaShem. Yet, the path to attain trust in HaShem is built of incremental steps, like a mountain-climber ascending from ridge to ridge, until he reaches the peak. So too, with each day we "rely" a little more on HaShem, until we stand secure on the mighty mountain of "trust." HaShem doesn't expect us to start out with the perfect trust of King David. The secret of attaining trust in HaShem is a steady climb, advancing one step at a time. Use each challenge as a means to strengthen your muscles of trust.
