"The remembrance of Your great goodness they will express, and they will rejoice in Your compassion" (Tehilim 145:7).
When we pray to HaShem, we recognize and acknowledge that He is the source of all goodness. Yet, when He answers our prayers, we humbly acknowledge we were not worthy to receive His kindness. Rather, HaShem, in His great compassion, grants us bountiful blessings. Rav Zvi Kashalevsky, Shlita, recently had his first child at age 88! After, his wondrous experience of having his first child, he explained the three principle concepts of prayer. One, never despair and always strengthen your trust in HaShem. Two, assume that you are undeserving of HaShem's kindness. Three, consider whatever you receive in life as a free gift from HaShem. The secret of Klal Yisrael's prayer is that we rely exclusively on HaShem's goodness, and rejoice in His compassion. When you pray, be aware that HaShem is the source of all good and rejoice in His compassion. (Based on the commentary of Ramad Valli to Tehilim) |
