HaShem's Mercy Never Ends
When the angels arrived in Sodom to destroy the city, it seemed that the fate of the city was sealed. Nevertheless, Avraham prayed for mercy and beseeched HaShem to spare the city. The reason for Avraham's reliance in HaShem's mercy is found in the Torah axiom: "Even if the sword is resting on your neck do not desist praying for mercy."
Lesson: Even when calamity is about to strike an amoral society, it is never too late to seek HaShem's mercy. How much more so, is it appropriate for those who are pleasing to HaShem to always trust HaShem and rely on His mercy.
App: Envision that your trust in HaShem is like a young sapling and see it grow into a mighty cedar tree with its branches stretching to Heaven.
