The Secret of Joyous Prayer
When Yitzchak Avinu prayed for his wife to have a child, "he prayed with the joy of man who had every blessing." Yet, since Rivka was childless for twenty years, surely they endured much distress? If so, why did Yitzchak feel so blessed?
Lesson: Prayer parts the "veil of nature" to help us see the kindness of HaShem that surrounds us. The more Yitzchak prayed, the more he recognized the endless goodness of HaShem that flowed upon him.
