SF - The Reward of a Broken Heart

The Reward of a Broken Heart

The requirement of the Korbon Oleh corresponds to a person's financial status. A wealthy person offers an ox, a person of average wealth offers a goat, and a poor person offers a bit of flour and oil. While HaShem values every Korbon, He gives special recognition to the humble offering of the poor man. Although he gives significantly less than the others, the Torah considers that his offering is as if he gave his very soul!

Lesson:  The shame, broken heart, great sacrifice, and modest offering  of the poor man finds great favor in HaShem's eyes.  In the same way, our effort, yearning, and devotion to fulfill the Torah awakens HaShem's ultimate compassion, blessing, and reward.

App: Take comfort in knowing that the more you struggle to perform a Mitzvah or study Torah, the more HaShem values, loves, and honors you.
