The Secret of Receiving HaShem's Compassion
Ruth, was a Moabite princess, and one of the most beautiful woman in the world. She lived in the royal palace, surrounded by luxury and honor. Ruth gave up all of her material advantages in order to convert to Judaism. She returned to Israel, with her impoverished mother-in- law, and took her place amongst the poorest people. HaShem recognized her sacrifice and blessed her with the merit to be the grandmother of King David.
Lesson: Just as a shepherd shows mercy to a wild deer who gives up his freedom in order to join a flock of sheep, so too, HaShem has great compassion on a person who makes an effort to improve and do teshuvah.
Application: Reflect on the truth that HaShem compassionately sees all our efforts to change and be better people. The greater effort we make, the more mercy and blessings HaShem showers upon us.
