The Open Gates of Mercy
"The gates of Teshuvah are open as wide as the seashore."
When a person acts improperly, he may, at times, lose heart of rectifying his action. He assumes that HaShem will not accept his remorse and his prayers for forgiveness. However, the Torah reveals that his sense of hopelessness is completely unfounded! Unlike the gates of earthy kings which restrict entranceway, the gates of repentance welcome every person who wants to return to HaShem!
Lesson: Do not be influenced by the doubts of your inner voice. Know with certainty that HaShem always accepts your return to Him.
Visualization: Envision the seashore stretching out before you as far as the eye can see. Now, transpose this image to represent the endless openings and opportunities of the Gates of Repentance. Be confident in knowing that HaShem always unconditionally accepts you, and mercifully grants you forgiveness.
