The Tikun for Tisha B'Av
The Temple was destroyed because of "baseless hatred" amongst people. Two positive attributes are required in order to correct this flaw and to open our hearts to love our fellow man. One is performing acts of love and kindness. The second is consciously reflecting on the value of our fellow man. Indeed, the second attribute is primary in motivating us to reach out to help our friends.
Lesson: Consider the contribution of others to our community. The more we value our fellow man, the more inspired we will be to go beyond the norm to help our friends. Good thoughts about others will stimulate acts of kindness and hasten the redemption! (Based on Chochmah U"Mussar of the Saba Kadisha M"Kelm)
