The Merit of Eretz Yisrael HaShem instructed Avraham to leave his homeland and go up to Eretz Yisrael, "There, in the Land of Israel, you will have the merit to have children. Here, outside the Land of Israel, you do not have the merit to have children. "
One of the reasons that HaShem commanded Avraham to come to Israel, was to gain the merit to have children. Soon after entering Israel, Avraham had a prophecy in which HaShem told him, "To your descendants, I will give this land." Avraham thanked HaShem for the good tidings that he would have children, and that his children would inherit the Land of Israel.
Lesson: The Presence of HaShem dwells eternally within the boundaries of the Land of Israel. Whoever comes to the holy Land of Israel receives countless blessings and assistance from HaShem, the G-d of Israel.
Visualization: Envision Avraham and Sara traveling by foot from Iraq to the Land of Israel. When they arrive at Shechem, hear HaShem tell Avraham, "You will have children who will inherit the Land of Israel." Sense the joy of Avraham and Sara in receiving such good news. Imagine yourself praying at the Western Wall with the trust and confidence that HaShem answers every prayer that is uttered at this holy place.
