The Secret of Shavuous
Inspiration: "These are the commandments that HaShem commanded Moshe to the Children of Israel on Mount Sinai" (Vayikra 27:34). Our Sages explain this verse: "These are the commandments" -- "these" are the only commandments. No other prophet has permission to add any other commandments to the Torah. "That HaShem commanded Moshe" -- Moshe was worthy of being the envoy of HaShem. "Moshe to the Children of Israel" -- Moshe was worthy of being the envoy of the Children of Israel, and the Children of Israel were worthy of having a teacher like Moshe. "To the Children of Israel" -- the Torah was given on the merit of the Children of Israel. "On Mount Sinai" -- the entire Torah was given on Mount Sinai. Lesson: HaShem gave the Torah to the holiest prophet, to the greatest generation, and at the holiest place. Each generation has the opportunity to share in the exalted Torah of Moshe transmitted to Klal Yisrael at Mount Sinai. Visualization: When you learn Torah, envision that HaShem is teaching you the holy Torah and revealing its beautiful secrets at Mount Sinai.
