SF - Menorah on Your Left, Mezzuzah on Your Right

Menorah on Your Left, Mezuzah on Your Right

Classically the Menorah is placed on the left side of the front door, with the Mezuzah on the right. With the Menorah on our left, and the Mezuzah on our right, we surround ourselves with two primary axioms. The Mezuzah represents the existence and the unity of the Creator, while the Menorah expresses our thanks and appreciation to HaShem for creating us and granting us our lives. When we enter our home, or go into the world, we remind ourselves that HaShem is the Source of our existence, and our hearts and souls are inspired to thank and praise HaShem.

Lesson: The Menorah and Mezuzah inspire us with the core tenets of the Torah, and avails us with the kindness, redemption, and miracles of HaShem.

Visualization: Envision the Chofetz Chaim lighting his Menorah on the left side of his doorway, with the Mezuzah on his right. Sense the awe that the Chofetz Chaim experiences when he looks at the Mezuzah and reflects on the Oneness of the Creator. See the joy on his countenance when he looks at the Chanukah Lights, and thanks HaShem for the ever present miracles in his life.
