SF - The Tranquility of King David

The Tranquility of King David

"Of David: HaShem is my light and my salvation, I will not fear; HaShem is the strength of my life, I will not be afraid" (Tehillim 27:1). Despite his many trials and tribulations, King David was deeply tranquil in every situation. Through prophecy he saw that he was never vulnerable because HaShem was always with him. Indeed, he rejoiced in knowing that his wisdom, his protection, and his very life came directly to him from HaShem.

Lesson: The three primal fears of man are loss of intelligence, danger, and transiency. The Torah counterbalances all three of these fears by revealing that HaShem grants us -- and secures -- our intelligence, protection, and life.

App:  Reflect on the verse, "HaShem is my light and my salvation, I will not fear; HaShem is the strength of my life, I will not be afraid." Internalize its profoundly positive message that HaShem sends you your intelligence, personal protection, and your life -- and attain peace of mind.
