The Amazing Power of the Creator \ Duties of the Heart
D'var Torah:
"By the word of HaShem were the heavens made; and all the hosts of them by the breath of His mouth" (Tehillim 33:6). We marvel at the architecture of the ancients, such as the Egyptian pyramids. These engineering wonders reflect the physical strength and refined souls of the builders, who made such grand and elaborate structures. If this architecture is so wondrous in our eyes, how much more so, should we marvel at the infinite greatness of HaShem, who created heaven and earth and all of the inhabitants. The Creator created the entire universe without effort or exertion, labor or fatigue, out of nothing, solely by His will and desire.
Moral: We are amazed at the architectural accomplishments of ancient man, even though our building skills are almost adept as theirs. How much more so, are we required to increase our amazement and awe of the infinitely great Creator of heaven and earth.
Application: Contemplate on the sun, moon and infinite stars of heaven; and their constant movements and perfect orbits. Consider the earth, oceans, trees, grass, animals, birds, fish, and man. Be amazed and awed at the wisdom, power, and goodness of the Creator of the universe.
