SF - HaShem Focuses on the Good Deeds of Klal Yisrael \ Parashat Titzaveh

HaShem Focuses on the Good Deeds of Klal Yisrael

D'var Torah:
HaShem instructed the Kohen Gadol to wear a gold ornament on his forehead that was inscribed with the words, "Holy to HaShem." The inner meaning of these words is, "Klal Yisrael is holy to HaShem." Klal Yisrael always desires to get close to HaShem, attach themselves to HaShem, and humble themselves to serve HaShem. The worthy efforts of Klal Yisrael to devote themselves to HaShem, make them pleasing to HaShem. Even more, the inscription, "Klal Yisrael is holy to HaShem,"  is as if, HaShem makes a permanent reminder for Himself to remember the commitment of His people to strive for holiness. In turn, HaShem continually remembers the special virtues of Klal Yisrael, and always looks upon them with favor and grace. This insight reveals the secret of  the verse (Shir HaShirim 6:3), "I am for my beloved and my beloved is for me." Meaning, since Klal Yisrael dedicates themselves to serve HaShem, in turn, HaShem loves Klal Yisrael and always finds them pleasing in His eyes.

Moral: Since Klal Yisrael dedicates themselves to faithfully serve HaShem; HaShem embraces Klal Yisrael with unbounded love. What's more, HaShem reminds Himself to constantly remember the commitment of Klal Yisrael to sanctify themselves through Torah study and Mitzvah observance.

Application: Envision the Kohen Gadol placing the golden ornament on his forehead, inscribed with the words, "Klal Yisrael is holy to HaShem."
Reflect on the fact that HaShem continuously reminds Himself of the great commitment and holiness of Klal Yisrael, and always looks on Klal Yisrael with favor. When you study Torah or do a Mitzvah, consider how much HaShem values your dedication to serve Him, and how much love HaShem holds for you and all Klal Yisrael.
