When Moshe Rabbeinu was born, his family saw that “he was good, and they hid him for three months.” What does the term "good" mean in this context? It signifies that Moshe radiated a special, divine light—a glowing illumination that filled the house and made it shine. His family hid him to prevent the Egyptians from seeing this light and discovering who he truly was. Furthermore, they did not want the Egyptians to realize that this holy child was the redeemer sent by HaShem, destined to lead Klal Yisrael out of darkness and slavery into the light and freedom of redemption. Holy beings require protection. The more holy and precious they are, the more they need to be safeguarded. HaShem endows each of us with a holy soul—infinitely precious and good.
