SF - Why Hashem Compares Klal Yisrael to the Stars

The Torah states, "These are the names of the Children of Yisrael who came to Egypt with Yaacov; each man came with his family" (Shemos 1:1). It goes on to mention the names of Yaacov's sons and hints at their wives and children, ultimately stating that "all the souls who descended from Yaacov were 70 souls." Rashi comments that even though the Torah counted them when they were alive (Bereisheis 46:8), it counted them again after they had passed away. Klal Yisrael are compared to stars: Hashem displays them at night and gathers them in the morning. This comparison highlights Hashem's love for us. Our Sages teach us in Pirkei Avos that "Every member of Klal Yisrael has a portion in the World to Come." Just as Hashem gathers each star, regardless of its brightness, He grants every member of Klal Yisrael a share in the World to Come. This beautiful concept demonstrates how Hashem expresses His love for every individual in Klal Yisrael.
