The journey is beautiful

“The years of Sara Imeinu’s life were all equally good.” Yet for ninety long years, Sara endured the pain of childlessness — a deep and personal sorrow. How then could the Torah declare that all the years of her life were good? The tzadikim understand that every hardship in this world carries hidden meaning and purpose. They firmly believe that suffering refines and elevates the soul, purifying it from spiritual impurities. Even when life’s trials seem harsh or senseless, the righteous perceive within them HaShem’s loving intention — to cleanse, uplift, and prepare the soul for eternal closeness to Him. Although Sara experienced years of anguish and longing, she viewed them as good because she recognized that each difficulty purified her and drew her nearer to HaShem. Her joy was not dependent on comfort, but on spiritual growth. When facing hardship, try to reframe your perception. What may feel like “bad” may, in truth, be healing — like a bitter medicine that restores the soul. Through every challenge, HaShem is preparing us to become vessels worthy of His light and of eternal delight in Gan Eden.
