The Holiest Place on Earth
Yaacov Avinu traveled from Eretz Yisrael towards Charan. Upon his arrival in Charan, he remarked, "How can it be that I passed Mount Moriah, the place where my father and grandfather prayed, and I did not stop to pray there?"
Why didn't Yaacov remember the significance of Mount Moriah until he arrived in Charan? When Yaacov arrived at Charan his spiritual powers diminished. He realized that the true source of his holiness was the illumination of the Shechinah, in Eretz Yisrael. Therefore, he returned to pray at Mount Moriah to receive HaShem's choicest blessings for him and his future descendants.
Lesson: Eretz Yisrael is the holiest place on earth.. The light of the Shechinah permeates the heart and soul of every person present in Eretz Yisrael.
Visualization: Envision Yaacov Avinu praying at Mount Moriah, the same place where Avraham and Yitzchak prayed. See him rejoice when he experiences closeness to the Shechinah. Hear HaShem tell him, "I will be with you and protect you. I will give this Holy Land to your descendants."
