The Honor of Dignity
Yoseph endured much suffering at the hand of his brothers, who sold him into slavery. When he was reunited with them, we would expect that he would have sharply condemned them. Nevertheless, when Yoseph revealed himself to his brothers, he simply stood before them and said, "I am Yoseph." He did not issue any cruel or harsh words, whatsoever. Lesson: Even if someone has done an injustice, anger is always an unacceptable response. It is appropriate for the admonisher, to express himself with dignity and respectfulness. App: When you offer your comments to others, speak with tact, calmness, sincerity, and with the willingness to forgive. (Based on the teachings of Rav Dovid Leibowitz)
