Come Close to Miracles
HaShem instructed Moshe to cover the altar with a thin plate of copper. Moshe was perplexed! How could the altar endure the heat of a fire that continuously burned day and night? HaShem explained to Moshe that miracles occur to every entity that is in HaShem's presence. For example, the dead wooden stick of Aaron blossomed with fruit when it was placed in the Mishkan. So too, since the altar was made for the glory of HaShem, it would not be harmed by the constant, blazing fire.
Lesson: Whatever and whomever is close to HaShem is blessed with life and protection, beyond the natural laws.
Visualization: Envision the continuous fire burning on the altar day and night. See the altar remain completely intact and unaffected by the heat of the fire. Strengthen your trust that HaShem will give you life and protection, as long as your intention is to honor Him through all of your deeds.

Once, Rabbi Yisrael Salanter's student approached him and said, "If I had the mind of a genius, the heart of a saint, and outstanding character traits -- then, I could become a great Rabbi."
Rabbi Yisrael responded, "With your mind, your heart, and your character traits you can become a great Rabbi!"
Rabbi Yisrael dedicated his life to encourage people to strive for personal excellence. To this end he launched the Mussar Movement, providing guidance, techniques, and wisdom on how to develop good and pleasant character traits.
