SF - I Am to My Beloved

I Am to My Beloved

One of the great mysteries of the Mishkan was the "Tzitz", that is, the golden plate that the Kohen wore on his forehead. The words, "Holy to HaShem"  were inscribed on the "Tzitz" and it awakened favor for Klal Yisrael in the  eyes of HaShem. How did this phenomenon work? The words "Holy to HaShem," actually referred to the holiness of Klal Yisrael. Our desire to come close to HaShem's goodness, to bind ourselves to Him, and to serve Him, are the characteristics that make us holy and pleasing to HaShem.

Lesson: The secret of the "Tzitz" is alluded in the beautiful verse, "I am to my beloved, and my beloved is to me." Our commitment and devotion to HaShem -- "I am to my Beloved," awakens HaShem's special favor and love for Klal Yisrael, "and my beloved is to Me."

Visualization: Envision the golden"Tzitz" inscribed with the words, "Klal Yisrael is holy to HaShem," resting on the forehead of the Kohen. See all of our good deeds, Mitvos, and Torah learning reflect in the "Tzizt" and ascend Heavenward as a precious gift to HaShem.
