The Components of Friendship "Rabbi Eliezer says: 'Let the honor of your friend be as dear to you as your own.'" (Pirkei Avos 2:10) The honor and patience that we show to our friends are the keys to fostering healthy and lasting friendships. The more we honor our friends, the more patience we will show them. Whereas, a lack of patience undermines relationships because it is usually perceived as a lack of respect. When we sincerely honor our friends, we are inspired to relate to them with generous patience. This gives us the advantage to continuously safeguard, enhance, and strengthen our friendships.
Lesson: Honor and patience are the indispensable pillars of wholesome interpersonal relationships.
App: Increase the honor and patience for your loved ones and friends and enhance the meaningfulness, joy, and trust in your relationships. (Based on the commentary of the Bartenura to Pirkei Avos)
