SF - The Joy of Recognizing HaShem's Kindness

The Joy of Recognizing HaShem's Kindness

"The praise of HaShem will fill my mouth and all mankind will bless His Holy name forever more."

Through the spirit of prophecy King David clearly recognized that his sustenance came directly from the kindness of HaShem, just as surely as a mother lovingly nurses her baby. In light of this, King David praised HaShem for lovingly sending his daily provisions. Indeed, he considered his sustenance just as miraculous as the Manna that HaShem sent to Klal Yisrael in the desert.

Lesson: HaShem mercifully sends to us our "daily bread." Therefore, it is a great spiritual practice to recognize, thank, and bless  HaShem for His unending, life-giving kindness.

App: Before you eat reflect on the fact that your food is a gift that HaShem created especially for your benefit. Feel the joy of gratitude for HaShem's kindness and make a blessing over your food with joyful thanksgiving to HaShem.
