SF - King David's Gratitude

King David's Gratitude

"They will express the remembrance of Your great goodness, and they will rejoice in Your gifts of kindness" (Tehilim 145). King David praises HaShem for the blessings of sustenance that He showers upon all of His creations. Looking deeper into the matter, King David reveals an additional dimension of gratitude to HaShem. In light of the fact that no man is perfect, we are necessarily entitled to receive HaShem's magnificent kindness. Rather, all the goodness that HaShem grants us is a gift of kindness, that HaShem graciously bestows.

Lesson: The more we are aware that the countless blessings that HaShem grants us are gifts that spring from His unconditional love, the more we will rejoice in His unabated kindness.

Visualization: Envision your breakfast as a gracious gift from HaShem. Reflect on the wonder that HaShem created and gave you the gift of life, as a pure act of kindness. Consider that He compassionately grants you a holy soul, intelligence, good character traits, and the opportunity to earn eternal life. Count your blessings and rejoice in His wondrous gifts and His unconditional love for you!
