Taste the Joy of Freedom \ Pesach Insight D'var Torah: "The beginning of the redemption of Klal Yisrael from Egypt started at night with the slaying of the first-born Egyptians. Yet, Klal Yisrael did not actually leave Egypt until the following morning." If a prisoner is informed that the king orders his release, he will not taste the joy of freedom until he actually leaves the gates of the prison. In contrast, Klal Yisrael, experienced the joy of freedom in the night, even though they were still inside Egypt, surrounded by Pharaoh and his powerful army. The revelation of the Shechinah and the wisdom of Moshe Rabenu gave Klal Yisrael the confidence to celebrate their freedom, even before they exited the gates of Egypt.
Moral: The recognition of HaShem overseeing our lives and the light of the Torah that illuminates the path of goodness, inspires us with the faith and trust today, to rejoice in our ultimate final redemption.
Application: Reflect on the miracles of HaShem that constantly surround you. Consider the miracle of Eretz Yisrael today: a thriving country, with millions of Jewish People, after two thousand years of exile. Be confident that the "beginning of our redemption" will surely culminate with the Geulah Shleimah, soon and within our days. (Based on Brachot 12b, M'harshah) |
