Kindle The Eternal Inner Flame \ Insight Parashat Zav D'var Torah: "A continual flame shall burn on the altar, it shall not extinguish" (Vayikra 6:6). A spark of Divine fire burns continually in the soul of every Jewish person. Indeed, this flame is never extinguished. With each new morning, the Rabbis, teachers, and parents rekindle the holy spark that burns eternally within the souls of Klal Yisrael. They awaken our dedication to the Mitzvot between man and HaShem, as well as the Mitzvot between man and man. The Mitzvot between man and HaShem are alluded to in the "Elevation offering," which is totally consumed by the fire and ascends to HaShem. The Mitzvot between man and man are alluded to by the "Peace offering," symbolizing peace between man and his fellow.
Moral: When the Rabbis, teachers, and parents kindle the flame of our souls, we can rest assured that the Divine spark within us will eternally burn on the Altar of HaShem. Application: When you awaken in the morning reflect on the verse, "A continual flame shall burn on the altar, it shall not extinguish." Heighten your awareness of your inner flame and ignite your soul with holiness and light. Be inspired to fulfill the Mitzvot with strength, enthusiasm, and joy.
