SF - The Secret of Matzah \ Special Pesach Edition

The Secret of Matzah \ Pesach Insight

D'var Torah: "Why do we eat Matzah? They baked the dough which they brought out of Egypt into unleavened bread, because they were driven out of Egypt." After 210 years of Egyptian bondage, HaShem performed great miracles and redeemed us from Egypt. Yet, at the time of our redemption, the Egyptians drove us out of their land. Doesn't this expulsion diminish the glory of our liberation? HaShem had an intense desire to reveal the Shechinah to Klal Yisrael. However, the Shechinah could not be revealed in the spiritually polluted environment of Egypt. Therefore, as soon as the moment of redemption arrived, HaShem quickly brought us out of Egypt so that He could reveal the light of the holy Shechinah upon Klal Yisrael.

Moral: When we eat Matzah on Pesach, we remember how much HaShem loves us and desires to be close to us. Like a man anxiously waiting to give a gift to his beloved, so too, HaShem yearned to shower us with His love, holiness, and peace.

Application: Internalize the message of Pesach. As we wait for the final redemption, remember that HaShem longs to be reunited with His beloved people. He yearns to bestow His light and love upon every Jewish soul. When our final redemption comes, it will come in a flash of time. The Shechinah will dwell amongst Klal Yisrael forever, and "our mouths will be filled with laughter and our tongues with joyous song."
