SF - A Time of Love \ The Festival Shavuot

A Time of Love
\  The Festival Shavuot

D'var Torah: Moshe Rabenu received two wondrous gifts at Mount Sinai. One, of course, was the Torah. What was the other? The second gift was the revelation of HaShem's infinite dimensions of love for Moshe and Klal Yisrael. In fact, HaShem dedicated most of Moshe's forty days atop Mount Sinai revealing His infinite love and wondrous kindness. The Torah which is the essence of HaShem's love, is given with plentiful and abundant worlds of love, kindness, and compassion.

Mussar: HaShem revealed boundless breadths of love to Moshe at Mount Sinai. Amongst them was HaShem's great love in revealing Himself and His holy Torah to Klal Yisrael. Shavuot is the most appropriate time to reflect on HaShem's love in revealing to us the great light of Torah.

Application: Envision Moshe Rabenu standing atop Mount Sinai, his face filled with light as he receives the holy wisdom of the Torah. Imagine his countenance beaming with joy as HaShem reveals His beautiful and endless levels of love. When you learn Torah on Shavuous sense the great joy of receiving the Torah and feel the wonderful love of HaShem for you and Klal Yisrael.
