Transform Darkness Into Light \ Trust and Tranquility D'var Torah: Nachum Ish Gam Zu was a holy Sage, who had a remarkably positive, inextinguishable life perspective. He knew that since HaShem is absolutely good, anything that HaShem does must be good. Whenever something ostensively "bad" happened to him, he always said, "This is also for the good." Nachum Ish Gam Zu had steadfast faith that everything that occurred to him was rooted in pure kindness. By meeting hardship with the declaration of faith, "This is also for the good," he joined the darkness to its source of light. Through his faith in HaShem's absolute goodness, he transformed the seemingly negative event into a great goodness. Moral: By expressing our steadfast trust in HaShem's goodness, and saying, "This is also for the good," we literally join the "bad" to its good source; and transform adversity to goodness, blessing, light, and deliverance.
Application: Greet difficulties with trust in HaShem's goodness and say, "This is also for the good" -- and transform the difficulty to the pure goodness of HaShem.
