Eternal Gratitude

King David was a master of showing gratitude to any person that helped him.

Yonason, the son of King Shaul, was King David's dearest and most faithful friend.

Yonason's love of King David effectively deposed Yonason from the Kingship. Nevertheless, Yonason did everything in his power to encourage King David and save him from the wrath of King Shaul.

After the Palishtim killed King Shaul and Yonason in a fierce battle, King David assumed the throne.

M'fiboshes was Yonason's son. King David gave Shaul's property to M'fishboshes, even though after King Shaul's death, his estate reverted to King David.

King David felt the appreciation that he owed to Yonason overpowered any "legal" issues.

Moreover, King David declared that M'fiboshes would sit at King David's table for the rest of his life.

Most people express their appreciation for kindness in a "one-time" gesture, such as sending flowers or writing a thoughtful note.

King David's gratitude had no limitations. He invited M'fiboshes to join his table, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, for all of his days.

What's more, M'fiboshes was disabled. Many people conveyed to King David that it is not befitting of royalty to have a disabled person sit at their table.

King David's powerful sense of gratitude to Yonason, overcame their assertion.

Let us awaken a deep sense of eternal gratitude in her hearts for any person who has helped us in our life.
