"And the angel of Esav saw that he could not injure Yaakov... and then the angel of Esav struck Yaakov on his thigh" (Based on Bereishit 32:26). The first part of the verse states, "And the angel of Esav saw that he could not injure Yaakov." However, the second part says, "the angel of Esav struck Yaakov on his thigh." As long as Yaakov concentrated on Hashem—his Merciful Father—he was invulnerable and not even aware of the angel. Then Esav's angel filled Yaakov's mind with thoughts of the future sins of Israel. This negativity disrupted his connection to Hashem, making Yaakov vulnerable to the angel's attack. Today: Stay focused on Hashem and that positivity will protect you from all mishaps.
