SF - Hashem Renews the Work of Creation

All the herbs of the field had not yet sprouted, for Hashem had not yet sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to work the soil" (Bereishis 2:5).

Unlike the other creatures, Hashem did not complete the creation of the herbs and grasses. He wanted man to recognize the need for rain and understand that it would only come through prayer to Hashem.

The purpose of prayer is for humanity to acknowledge Hashem's supervision and realize how much He cares about all of our needs. Every moment, we receive everything anew from Hashem.

Today: Take a moment to reflect on the fact that Hashem renews the work of creation each day!

(Based on the essay of Rabbi Chaim Friedlander)
