Crown Your Friend
When Yaacov Avinu suffered his final illness, Yoseph was summoned to visit his father. When Yoseph arrived at his father's bedside, Yaacov was gravely ill. Nevertheless, he made a gallant effort and sat up in his bed in order to honor Yoseph, who was the king of Egypt.
Lesson: Our Sages instruct us to honor our friends as if they are kings. We learn from Yaacov to what lengths we are obligated to honor kings, and in turn to honor our friends.
App: Make every effort to honor your beloved friends with the honor of a king.
