The Hidden Path of True Success
"Rabbi Chaninah ben Dosa said, 'A person who is pleasant to his fellow men, is pleasant to HaShem'" (Avos 3:10). This wonderful lesson sheds much light on attaining true success. The fulfillment of the ideal to be "pleasant to his fellow men" requires one to be consistently pleasant. Regardless of whether he is having a good day or a challenging day, whether he is in a good mood or a negative mood, he always relates to others with pleasantness, goodwill, and respect.
Lesson: If a person attains the golden state of being pleasant to his fellow men in every circumstance, then he has attained the invaluable status of being pleasant to HaShem.
Visualization: Envision the sweetness and dignity of Esther HaMalkah, who "found grace in the eyes of every person." See how she is pleasant to all people in every situation. Do your best to always be pleasant, helpful, and supportive to others in all of your interpersonal interactions -- and be pleasant to HaShem! (Based on Tomer Devorah of Rav Moshe Cordevaro)
