SF - The Joy of Speech

The Joy of Speech

"A man finds joy in giving an intelligent response -- and how good is a timely word" (Mishei 15:23). King Solomon reveals a deep insight regarding the relationship between speech and joy. When a person organizes his thoughts and and speaks intelligently, it brings him happiness. His happiness results because his words of wisdom make him aware of his intelligent soul, the special gift that HaShem grants to man. Additionally he rejoices, upon realizing that man possesses the faculty of thought, whereas the wonder of speech is totally a gift from HaShem!

Lesson: Expressing intelligent concepts through speech brings us true joy. This joy resonates deeply within our soul because it makes us aware of two invaluable gifts that HaShem grants us -- our intelligent soul and the miracle of speech.

Visualization: Envision King Solomon speaking with great wisdom, and the light of joy shining on his countenance. See his listeners receiving his words with great delight. Imagine giving over a D'var Torah and fill your soul with joy.
