Pleasing to HaShem
"Moshe received the Torah from Sinai, and Moshe transmitted the Torah to Yehoshuah" (Pirkei Avos 1:1). Did Moshe only transmit the Torah to Yehoshuah? What about Pinchas, Elazar, and the seventy elders who lived in that generation? Weren't they men of towering stature? Moshe would only entrust the precious Torah to someone who had sacrificed himself for the Torah from his very youth. Even more, a person who sat unceasingly in the Beis HaMidrash, and who also acquired a good name. Only Yehoshuah perfectly fit these qualifications, as it says, "Yehoshuah ben Nun...never left the tent of study."
Lesson: The more we dedicate ourselves to serve HaShem, the more pleasing we are to HaShem.
Visualization: Envision Yehoshuah sitting in the "Tent of Wisdom" and immersing himself in Torah study and character development. Transpose Yehoshuah's enthusiasm for Torah and personal excellence into your heart. Rejoice in knowing that you are pleasing to HaShem and receiving His constant and sweetest blessings. (Based on the commentary of Rashi to Pirkei Avos)
