“Hillel said: Be of the disciples of Aaron—love peace and pursue peace.” (Avos 1:12) Aaron HaKohen was the great peacemaker of the Jewish people. He not only cherished harmony in his heart, but also actively sought out opportunities to bring peace between friends, neighbors, and even between husband and wife. Loving peace means valuing unity and goodwill, while pursuing peace means taking concrete steps to restore relationships and heal divisions. When we follow Aaron’s example, Hashem grants blessings to our efforts, and we merit to spread peace in our communities. True success in achieving peace requires both an inner love of harmony and practical actions that foster reconciliation between people in conflict. Today: Nurture a deep love of peace within your heart, and then translate that love into action—reach out, encourage, and help others find common ground.
