SF - Your Inherent # Holiness

We read in this week’s Parasha about the “rebellious son,” brought before Beis Din by his parents, who testify, “Our son is rebellious.” The Torah prescribes that such a son be executed.

Yet Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai teaches that this case never actually occurred. His view highlights a profound truth: no Jewish soul is beyond redemption.

Every Jew carries an indestructible spark of goodness, inherited from Avraham Avinu. This inner holiness protects the soul, shielding it from being completely consumed by sin. With this holiness, every Jew can rise from even the lowest depths, cleanse himself from impurity, and radiate light to the world.

Teshuvah, then, is not the creation of new holiness, but the reawakening of the holiness that was always there—even in the darkest of times.

Today: Look within your heart and discover your inherent holiness.
