The Blessing of Empathy
When the famine set in, Yoseph empathized with the plight of his people and abstained from marital relations. As a result of Yospeh's sensitivity, HaShem blessed his inheritance in the Land of Israel: "'Of Yoseph.' he said, 'Blessed by HaShem is His land with the heavenly bounty of dew...with the bounty of the land and its fullness...'" (Devarim 33)
Lesson: When a person empathizes with the community in their time of hardship, he ultimately merits to see their comfort.
App: Contemplate on the hardships and trials of your loved ones and friends, be sensitive to them, and make every effort to help them. HaShem will bless you, and eventually, you will merit to see their comfort.
