The Prayer for World Peace
"Rabbi Hanina Segan HaCohanim said, 'Pray for the peace of the country.'" (Avos 3:2)
A wonderful and appropriate prayer is to pray for the peace of the entire world, and to empathize with the hardships of others. King David fulfilled this ideal of caring for his fellow man: "When they were sick, I wore sackcloth and I afflicted myself with fasting." (Tehillim 35:13)
Lesson: The righteous expand the scope of their prayers to include their family, friends, community, Klal Yisrael, and the entire world.
App: Envision all the nations and people of the world living in peace and harmony. Pray for world peace and feel the joy of contributing to the welfare of mankind.
