The Secret of Chanukah
Every amazing thing in our life -- from the bright sun above to the good earth below -- is a miracle! However, the awareness that HaShem performs these countless hidden miracles often eludes us. The celebration of the revealed miracles of Chanukah, gives us the awareness to recognize that HaShem performs the hidden miracles that constantly surround us.
Lesson: The blessing that we make on lighting the Chanukah lights is: "Blessed are You HaShem....Who did miracles for our fathers in those days, at this time." The revealed miracle of Hanukah, both the military victory and the burning of the oil for eight days -- "in those days," opens our hearts to see the hidden miracles of HaShem that surround us -- "at this time."
